Color The Castle

To promote fun, local history activities from home we’re highlighting a few pages from The Castle Coloring Book over the next few weeks.

As an added bonus for those who love history and coloring we’re offering one free tour pass per person who posts their finished version of today’s page and tags us at “@mariettacastle” on Facebook or Instagram. Valid through 5pm Fri., March 20. Our first post is the exterior of our historic house.

The house was built in 1855 (165 years ago) at its choice location in town by renowned architect John Slocumb. It earned its nickname “The Castle” from its Gothic Revival architecture incorporating a tower and spires making it look like a medieval castle
