Today’s coloring page highlights The Castle’s first owner Colonel Melvin Clarke! Melvin was a prominent attorney, Marietta’s first city solicitor, abolitionist, advocate of public education, and renowned speaker. At the onset of the Civil War, he recruited and led local troops of the 36th Ohio Volunteer Infantry until he was mortally wounded in the Battle of Antietam.
