Cultural Caravan Bus Tour: Howard Chandler Christy’s Muskingum Valley

Said to have been the most famous artist in America during much of his career, Howard Chandler Christy was born near Zanesville and maintained a studio overlooking the Muskingum River. Join us as we explore the life story and local traces of this nationally significant artist.

Itinerary at a Glance
8:00am – Depart from Marietta College Physician Assistant Parking Lot (Corner of Butler & 3rd Streets)

8:30am – Brief look at the Dietz Prehistoric Mound outside Lowell

9:00am – Tour Morgan County Historical Society

10:30am – Tour the “Barracks.” Christy’s rural home and studio.

12:15pm – Lunch provided by Bill’s Real Pit BBQ

2:00pm – Tour Zanesville Art Museum

5:45pm – Return to Marietta

Free pre-trip informative lecture for registrants held Tuesday, August 21st 7pm at The Castle
