Bertha Hamilton Art Exhibit
Sunday, November 8th 2009 to Saturday, November 28th 2009
Bertha Hamilton was a Marietta resident and a student of A. James Weber during the 1940s. When Stewart and Dr. Bertlyn Bosley retired to their hometown of Marietta, they not only purchased The Castle, but also purchased a home on Fourth Street in which to live while renovating The Castle. That home was formerly the home of Bertha Hamilton. Her paintings were found in the attic. Stewart kept the artwork and it is now part of the archival collection of The Castle.
This exhibit is the first time that Bertha Hamilton's artwork has been on public display. The exhibit will be at The Castle from November 8 through November 28. The Castle is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 until 4:00, Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 until 4:00. If you plan to bring a large group, please call ahead. 740-373-4180.
